A few weeks ago, I was asked to be a guest performer in the Washington Ballet's NUTCRACKER at the Warner Theatre. I was a bit hesitant at first, because I wasn't sure if my "guest role" required any ballet experience.
Lucky for me, I was the "merry widow" in the opening party scene. No dancing. Just wiping away tears a few times, walking in a receiving line...and watching all the frolicking on stage. I definitely have plenty of "party" experience...lol!
I arrived at the Warner Theatre early for my costume fitting. I was a little nervous about it, because I wasn't sure they'd have a dress that fit. It's no secret I'm not exactly "ballerina sized." Thankfully, my costume fit...and they approved of my hair and make-up application.
Here are a couple of photos of me backstage...
