I was really shocked when I first heard the news.  She was one of my favorites on the station, and I listened to her show every week day ever since I started listening to this station back in 1994. I'm really going to miss hearing her on the air and miss hearing her show.  She did a tremendous job as a D.J. and was really great about turning a bad day into a good one. Words are pretty inadequate to express the deep sorrow I feel at the passing of Celeste.  I am a listener from way back in the old Q107 days, and remember "Candy Clark" keeping me company in the wee hours of the morning as I drove home from who know's where.  Later, when she had the mid-day shift, her warm voice was still there keeping me company.  I loved to hear her talk about her boys - I remember her Barilla pasta commercials and her "little sous chefs".  She was the consummate professional, yet somehow managed to make the radio experience an intimate, personal chat with a friend.  I have sorely missed her sparkling wit over the last year, and my heart goes out to her family.  God bless you, Celeste, and thanks for sharing so many years of yourself with us.  We were truly blessed.

I got to know Celeste when both of her boys went to our school. She would come in and pick them up and would sit around and let them play while she would chat with the staff. I never had the pleasure of meeting Celeste in person, but when I worked the overnight shift across the hall at WMAL in the early '90s,  staff members were constantly praising her skill and great work ethic.  In the radio business, being somewhere for a year is a significant accomplishment. What a shock.  I was taken back to hear that Celeste had passed.  I had listened to her since the Q107 days in middle school.  As I grew into my 20's and now in my 30's it was nice to turn the radio on and to hear a voice that was true.  Words she spoke came from honesty.  I personally felt the emotion she expressed in her words.  You could feel her smile, her disappointment, her truth.  It was a pleasure having children and being able to turn on MIX and know it would be clean.  Celeste was one kind.  I have missed the connection and balance she and Jack Diamond had in the morning, but I always held out hope that she would return to the mornings.  Celeste will truly be missed and the large void she has left will be hard to fill.

Like many of the other listeners, I was shocked and saddened to hear the news of her passing.  She seemed so vibrant and full of life.  What a fantastic tribute to her, her family and friends to have so many people compelled to say how much she enriched their lives.  I hope these thoughts and memories help her family, friends and co-workers through this difficult time.  I am proud to be a loyal listener of a radio station that focuses on the positive.  It is clear that she had a positive impact on so many people's lives.  My thoughts and prayers are with everyone she touched.

Like so many of the posters, I started listening to Celeste Clark back in the "Hits Happenin' Right on Q107" days.  Her consummate class act of professionalism and cheerfulness will be missed on the airwaves.  Over the past ten years or so we've lost so many talented DJ's.  Wolfman Jack, "The Real" Don Steele, Robert W. I am comforted by the voice of Jack Diamond in the morning and I was comforted by the voice of Celeste in the afternoon. Driving a long distance to get to work and back home leaves along void in one's daily routine and quite often, radio DJs fill that void. Not many have the talent to bond with the listeners and make them feel at ease during the stop and go driving grind. But Celeste had that natural talent. She knew what people wanted to hear and she was a soothing voice during many of my rush hours. When I stop to think about it, it was all about me. My drive home. Why don't traffic move. First impression:  working one morning at WMAL 1997, coming into the kitchen to see Celeste coming in from the studio, exhausted, coughing and sneezing from that day's allergy attack, eyes puffy, etc. etc. -- not much time to talk, in the middle of her shift, but she just reminded me that it was more important for her to be there, on the air, entertaining, keeping the station alive and making everyone else's day easier, more important than how she happened to feel that day.  And, after that, I was always grateful to be working nearby, knowing I could never match her drivetime drive.  My condolences to her father, family, and the ABC team in DC.

Back in 1989, I wrote a letter to Q107 to request a song to be played for all my friends. A year earlier, I had lost my fiance in an automobile accident and I just wanted to thank all my friends for their love and support in getting me through the year. I really didn't think anything was going to come of it until a few mornings after I sent it, I heard Celeste read my letter on the air while I was driving in to work. I called the station to say 'thank-you' to no one in particular and Celeste took a little time from her show to say a few words to me. It meant a lot then and it still does now.

As soon as I heard Celeste's voice I knew what time of the day it was. It didn't seem like radio when I didn't hear her for a while. Like a fixture that's always there. Her personality permiated throught the air waves. It was as if she was talking to me directly sometimes. What a joy it was to listen to her and be in the presence of her company on the air. I met Celeste following the John Wayne Bobbitt trial when I was in-studio with Barbara Britt doing a recorded show about the trial.  Celeste and I spoke for a bit and I was instantly enamoured wi, th her poise, her vivacious charactor and endearing smile.  I moved away from the DC area but everytime I was in town, you can bet I had the car radio tuned to Celeste.  I moved back to Virginia from Houston 2 yrs ago and now live in Winchester.  The passing of such an impassioned woman is devistating.  But knowing  we had the pleasure of her acquaintance, if even for a s, hort time through this journey of life, makes each one of us a better person on many levels! I started listening to Celeste on 107.3 back in the 80's when it was called Q107. I was in Middle School at the time.  Somwhere along the road when I entered college I stopped listening. Several years later as I was driving to work I was flipping through the stations and stopped on Mix 107.3. It's now permanently programmed in my car. One reason was because when I heard Celeste's voice I was surprised to hear she was still on the show but most importantly I was comforted by her friendly voice - it was like coming home after being away for so long.
