My favorite sport used to be football. My favorite local team used to be the Redskins. Well...after watching the Redskins break my heart over and over again...I was open to falling in love with a new sport and team. I'm happy to report that hockey and the Capitals have taken over that place in my heart.

I first started getting into hockey when I hosted the very first HOCKEY N HEELS event for female hockey fans at the Verizon Center three years ago. I got a chance to learn about the sport and meet some of the players. My love for the Caps grew when I started dating Don. He has always been a huge hockey and Caps fan. Don plays hockey in a beer league each week...and we had the pleasure of attending over a dozen Caps games last season.

I had the pleasure of hosting one of the panels at THE CAPITALS CONVENTION over the weekend. It was the first convention put together by the team for fans. It took place at THE GAYLORD CONVENTION CENTER at the National Harbor. My job was to moderate the mock kids' press conference featuring Brooks Laich, Matt Bradley and David Steckel (they play FORWARD on the team). Those guys were SUPER FUNNY and entertaining! I took a few photos at the convention that I'd like to share with all of you. Enjoy!
