Avon Walk for Breast Cancer The Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in Washington, DC is May 1-2, 2010. This weekend-long event brings together thousands of participants for two days. The beautiful, scenic route is a great way to see Washington, DC in a whole new light while making a significant contribution to the fight against breast cancer. The Avon Walk for Breast Cancer is a weekend-long event that brings together thousands of participants for two days. Proceeds from the Avon Walks are awarded by the Avon Foundation for Women to breast cancer medical research; access to care; support services; education and awareness; and screening and diagnostics. Since its start in 2003-2008, more than $265 million has been raised by the Avon Walk series. In addition to raising significant funds, the Avon Walks spread awareness and education about breast cancer, and reminds everyone that early detection helps save lives.
